As a Quantum Computer Scientist, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and implementing software solutions that meet the needs of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s large-scale conversion for a suite of Java applications from local servers to AWS servers. MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT As a Quantum Computer Scientist, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. You will play a crucial role in Help design, develop, evaluate, plan, and test engineering specifications for software programs and applications Help set up local workspace with Spring Tool Suite and cloned code repositories to be able to apply changes using BitBucket as version control (CI/CD pipelines) Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features Design and develop cloud-based applications using Java Enterprise Edition (JEE) technologies, Python, and other program languages Remove old Struts Framework Code and Tag Libraries from Java and JSP files Update Project Object Model (POM) files and XML configuration files to bring dependencies up to the necessary new version Run Maven commands for building and testing new codes Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications Consult business process owners to evaluate process improvement opportunities and potential technology solutions WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED Bring your engineering expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT.
