About The Position

The Quantitative UX Researcher (PhD) at Meta is responsible for designing and executing comprehensive primary research to understand user behaviors and inform product strategies. This role requires collaboration with product teams and other researchers to generate insights that impact the development of products used by billions globally. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a passion for understanding the intersection of data, technology, and society.

Requirements

  • Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a PhD in a human behavior-related field (e.g., Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Sociology, Communication, Anthropology, Information Science, Computer Science, or Political Science).
  • Knowledge of research methods in at least one subset (e.g., survey design and quantitative data analysis, ethnography).
  • Experience conveying research findings and implications to various audiences.
  • Analytical, project management, and problem-solving experience.
  • Experience with autonomy and independent decision-making to weigh tradeoffs and balance demands.
  • Experience mentoring other researchers.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with consumer products, consumer insights, or product research.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute end-to-end custom primary research using a variety of methods.
  • Work closely with product teams and other researchers to identify important research questions.
  • Act as a thought leader in research, advocating for users of Meta's products.
  • Generate insights that shape medium and long-term product strategy.
  • Communicate results and illustrate suggestions in compelling and creative ways.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with design, product management, data science, content strategy, engineering, and marketing.
