About The Position

We are looking for PhD level students majoring in Biomedical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline for a 12-week internship role in Gaithersburg, MD from May 18th to August 7th. Position Duties: Develop a quantitative systems pharmacology model for an oncology application. Curate literature to identify parameter values and test various modeling scenarios to inform decision-making. Requirements

  • PhD level students majoring in Biomedical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Candidates must have an expected graduation date after August 2026.
  • Strong mathematical background and hands on experience of modeling with ODEs is required.
  • Some coding experience is required, preferably in Python/Julia/MATLAB.
  • Ability to report onsite to Gaithersburg, MD 3 days per week.
  • US Work Authorization is required at time of application.
  • This role will not be providing OPT support.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience of mathematical modeling of biological systems is preferred.
  • Knowledge of systems biology / QSP modeling, control theory is a plus.
