About The Position

We are looking for Master’s students majoring Computer Science, Biostatistics, Data Science, or a related field for a 10-week internship role at our Alexion: AstraZeneca Rare Disease site in Boston-Seaport, MA site from June 1 2026 to August 7 2026. Position Description: Build end-to-end clinical study workflows in R: Design data ingestion, cleaning, analysis, and reporting pipelines, emphasizing reusable, well-documented code. Develop and package reusable R components: Create R packages for standardized data processing, analytics, and visualization to support consistency across studies. Document and communicate: Prepare thorough methodological documentation and user guides for packages, workflows, and automations, and present findings to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Master’s students majoring Computer Science, Biostatistics, Data Science, or a related field
  • Open source programming skills, specifically in R and Python required
  • Candidates must have an expected graduation date after August 2026.
  • US Work Authorization is required at time of application.
  • Ability to report onsite to Boston-Seaport, MA site 3-5 days per week.

Nice To Haves

  • Graphics and data visualization experience preferred
  • Enthusiasm for collaboration, cross-functional projects, public speaking, and presentation design.
