Schwab Wealth & Asset Management Engineering (WAME) Technology is part of the Schwab Technology Services (STS) organization supporting Schwab's Research, Investment management, and Trading platforms to provide products, advice and services to institutional and retail clients manage investments. Our team-Investments, Credit and Trading Technology team-is essentially the front-office for Schwab Asset Management that continues to harness the state-of-the-art technologies for differentiating Schwab portfolio research, asset & wealth management. The team has won several industry awards such as the 'Best IT Team of the Year' and the 'Asset Manager Digital Tool of the Year'. Be part of a high performing that plays a key role in co-developing investment models, defining the technology strategy, designing investment management and trading systems, and delivering to high engineering standards.

  • Manage the software development lifecycle including coordination, prioritization, and communication across business product areas.
  • Build and realize the strategy for the teams to support the dynamic needs of the WAME business.
  • Engage in hands-on development, building a client-driven technology organization.
  • Design and develop software solutions and business process solutions based on business needs.
  • Lead application components of moderate complexity with guidance from the manager.
  • Provide technical design input in overall project.
  • Focus on quality based on Schwab's standards.
  • A university degree from a well-respected academic institution; advanced degrees in Information management, Computer Science, Business Administration and/or other professional certifications are a plus.
  • Experience in the financial industry developing quantitative models.
  • At least 3 years' experience building software in Python or R.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, MongoDB or other SQL/no-SQL database, Time-series data, Plotly/charting.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience.
  • Recent experience working in Agile teams.
  • Some experience with cloud/cloud foundry platform; AWS will be a plus.
  • Full-Stack experience with HTML5, Angular/Backbone, JavaScript, JQuery.
