This position involves supervising inspection personnel, ensuring adherence to quality procedures and the Completed Vehicle Inspection Standard (CVIS), managing employee time and attendance, collaborating with DCMA and customers to facilitate truck sales, conducting FIR audits with the government, and providing support to the Quality Verification Manager and Quality Director on special projects, while also interacting with other manufacturing department personnel.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience
  • 3-5 years Supervisory / Manager experience required
  • Must have a certified quality auditor certificate or have equivalent experience in conducting ISO 9000 and IATF audits
  • Strong communication skills, presentation skills, facilitation skills
  • Experience using Total Quality Tools for problem solving
  • Must possess strong proficiency in MS Office products, such as Excel, Word, access and PowerPoint
  • Strong initiative, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both written and verbal
  • Must be able to regularly read computer screen, reports, and various documents with detail and clarity to accomplish work tasks in a safe and efficient manner, including regular use of adequate close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
  • Must be able to regularly hear well enough to communicate
  • Must be able to regularly coordinate one’s eyes with one’s fingers, wrists, or arms to move, carry, or manipulate objects or to perform other job-related tasks
  • Ability to perform job functions in an environment with varying difficult work conditions such as extreme cold, heat, inclement weather, at heights, and/or while exposed to constant/intermittent loud noises
  • Ability to work with others to ensure efficiency in the workplace
  • Ability to understand how to use machinery properly and safely to prevent accidents and ensure all tasks are completed accurately
  • Ability to follow instructions competently
  • Needs a methodical approach to ensure all tasks are completed in the correct order for a smooth-running production line
  • Strong level of concentration when carrying out tasks for quality control purposes
  • Ability to maintain focus at all times in a fast-paced role

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree in quality or related field preferred or equivalent related experience
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma
  • Military training on the HMMWV is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Supervise salary and hourly inspection personnel in the Assembly areas
  • Assure quality procedures, processes, Completed Vehicle Inspection Standard (CVIS) are being followed
  • Document salary and hourly employees time and attendance
  • Incumbent works with DCMA and direct customers to achieve truck sales and performs FIR audit with government
