About The Position

The position involves providing tactical quality engineering support for the value stream, ensuring that quality assurance processes are effectively implemented and continuously improved. The role requires offering technical direction and support to both the Quality Engineering and Production teams, fostering an environment that emphasizes proactive and continuous improvement towards quality assurance. The individual will be responsible for assuring that inspection methods, process controls, process flow, inspection equipment, and trained personnel are compliant to ensure an uninterrupted flow of material through the value stream. Additionally, the role includes actively participating in problem-solving initiatives and continuous improvement efforts, as well as addressing nonconformities and corrective actions from audits and complaints.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality engineering or a related role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated use of problem solving, risk management, and continuous improvement tools.
  • Effective communication skills for employees, direct reports, cross-functional teams, and senior leadership.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to present complex issues to diverse audiences.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex problems using data-driven approaches.
  • Experience with report preparation, writing, and presentation.
  • Organizational change management skills; strategic and tactical thinking.

  • Experience in a regulated industry, such as medical devices.
  • Tactical support for supply chain.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tactical quality engineering support for the value stream.
  • Offer technical direction and support to Quality Engineering and Production teams.
  • Foster an environment of proactive and continuous improvement towards quality assurance.
  • Assure compliance of inspection methods, process controls, and inspection equipment.
  • Actively participate in problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Address nonconformities and CAPAs from audits and complaints.
  • Promote a culture of trust, flexibility, teamwork, and inclusiveness.
  • Guide and support Quality Engineers and Supervisors in risk analysis and process flow reviews.
  • Develop, motivate, engage, coach, and inspire a team of Quality supervisors, engineers, and inspectors.
