Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in quality control or inspection processes preferred.
  • Familiarity with CNC programming and operation is a plus.
  • Ability to operate inspection equipment such as FPI Equipment, X-ray Machines, and Leak Testers.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in completing paperwork and inspections.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and assist in problem resolution.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the automotive manufacturing industry.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and recycling procedures.
  • Familiarity with Kaizen and 5S methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for processing and inspection of FPI, Destructive Machined and/or X-rayed products to ensure that they are visually and functionally acceptable per applicable QAC documentation.
  • Participates in the safety, quality, and housekeeping programs as established within the plant; including but not limited to Kaizen, Safety Committee, 5S, etc.
  • Performs job tasks to reduce environmental impact and adheres to the environmental regulations and recycling procedures for waste disposal.
  • Complies with all plant rules, safety regulations and job hazard analysis requirements.
  • Operates FPI Equipment, X-ray Machines, Destructive Machining CNC's and Leak Testers for casting inspection.
  • Inspect castings for acceptance to applicable standards.
  • Notifies appropriate Quality Control area when castings are not acceptable or suspect to the standards.
  • Completes all required paperwork with great accuracy and in a timely manner.
  • Assists production supervisors and engineers in the resolution of problems.
  • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Provides technical engineering support to machining systems, equipment, tooling, and personnel.
  • Understands and is capable to properly use and/or edit CNC programs.
  • Assists with troubleshooting CNC equipment and programs.
  • Assists with maintaining process control and preventive maintenance (PM) schedule.
  • Able to use current records to document daily program or maintenance changes/improvements.
  • Have knowledge of tooling and be able to change out several different standard types of tooling.
  • Be able to perform basic CNC and fixture repair.
  • Also work closely with Maintenance Department as required.
  • Identifies and implements process improvement opportunities.
