About The Position

DVA Consulting is seeking a Quality / Test Engineer to join their team in Tucson, AZ. The main function of a quality engineer is to research and test the design, functionality and maintenance of products, equipment, systems and processes and develop quality standards. A typical quality engineer has the ability to read and interpret blueprints, and evaluate product integrity and standards. This role involves continuous product improvement support, evaluating issues and defects in production products, and supporting external customers with software and hardware issues. Interaction with the team is global, involving virtual and in-person collaboration.

Requirements

Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability.
Team player and detail oriented.
Basic ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports.
Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).
2-4 years of experience.
BS Degree preferred; can accept Associate Degree.
Project management experience.
Experience supporting technology in an industrial or production environment.
Technical Excellence: Product Support experience.
Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes; ability to collect and synthesize data from a variety of stakeholders and sources in an objective manner to reach a conclusion, goal, or judgment (Data Gathering & Analysis).
Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors (Effective Communications).
Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations (Problem Solving).
Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers (Relationship Management).
Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques; ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations and provide excellent service in a direct or indirect manner (Service Excellence).
Knowledge of techniques, roles, and responsibilities in providing technical or business guidance to clients, both internal and external; ability to apply consulting knowledge appropriately (Consulting).
Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions (Customer Focus).
Reside within 40 miles of Tucson, AZ.
MSHA certification required for mine visits.

Responsibilities

Devise sampling procedures and design and develop forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
Establish program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities.
May write training material and conduct training sessions on quality control activities.
May specialize in areas of quality control engineering, such as design, incoming material, process control, product evaluation, product reliability, inventory control, metrology, automated testing, software, research and development, and administrative application.
Evaluate issues and defects in production products (Continuous Product Improvement Support).
Support for external customers.
Support software and hardware issues.
