About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Technician to perform and oversee a range of metrology tasks using inspection, measurement, and test equipment. This role requires expertise in using digital measurement instruments, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), portable CMMs, handheld 3D scanners, and dimensional probing systems. The successful candidate will lead inspection and measurement activities, support problem identification and resolution, and ensure conformance to specifications.

Requirements

  • Quality assurance and inspection expertise.
  • Experience with GD&T, CMM operation, and portable CMMs.
  • Knowledge of industry metrology practices and calibration processes.
  • Problem-solving aptitude and strong foundation in FAI, ISIR, and blueprint reading.
  • Experience with CAD software and SolidWorks.
  • Understanding of applied mathematics, statistics, and Zero Acceptance number sampling plans.
  • Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Detailed part dimensional layout and fixture design experience.
  • HS Diploma required; Associate's degree or higher preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in fabrication, welding, sheet metal, manufacturing, and/or assembly environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications such as ASQ CQT, CCT, CQI, Six Sigma desired.
  • ISO 9001 or IATF Internal Auditor certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Execute metrology tasks using various inspection, measurement, and test equipment.
  • Lead quality engineering efforts on the production floor to support problem identification, containment, and resolution.
  • Interpret component blueprints/drawings and apply requirements in FAI and PPAP sample inspection activities.
  • Lead tasks related to Zero Acceptance number sampling plans and perform relevant inspections and audits.
  • Support inspection and measurement fixture/gage design and fabrication tasks as necessary.
  • Provide support in sorting, inspection, containment, and segregation of non-conforming material.
  • Facilitate employee training in metrology, IM&TE application, and calibration procedures.
  • Drive problem containment efforts, working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Organize inspection and measurement results using statistical data recording systems.
  • Perform gage R&R studies and use data to establish calibration intervals.
  • Document and update actions on quality issues with supporting documentation.
  • Participate in Quality Management System (QMS) audit activities.
  • Evaluate calibration results and support assessment of out-of-calibration conditions.
  • Ensure effective tracking of gage calibration records and document control.
  • Administer precision measurement systems and maintain inspection records.
