General Purpose of the Position: Responsible for coordinating Quality Assurance activities with the focus on ISO9000 system components.

Requirements

  • Education: Two Year Technical Degree
  • Years of Experience: 2-5 years in a manufacturing environment in leu of degree
  • Basic math skills
  • Knowledge of how to use calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches, and height gages
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work with both hourly and salaried personnel
  • Basic organizational skills
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access
  • ISO Internal Auditor Training
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Manage gage calibration database
  • Communicate with suppliers and customers in an accurately and timely manner
  • Flexibility to work on off shift hours for training / gage issues
  • Understanding of purchasing system and requirements for purchasing items
  • Understanding of the current ISO9001 Quality System
  • Maintain gage calibration certifications and assure that data on certifications is correct and readily available
  • Perform Internal Systems Audits
  • Participate as a member of the Quality Management Team
  • Ability to write work instructions for gage calibration system
  • Ability to do basic gage calibration (torque wrenches, torque controllers, pressure gages, height gages, calipers, micrometers, and load cells)
  • Ability to monitor, collect, and process various types of data to assist in measuring of systems, processes, or product
  • Work with hourly auditors and team members on day-to-day quality issues, update relevant quality charts and metrics
  • Responsible for qualification of calibration masters
  • Complete quality-related documentation for nonconforming material, quality alerts, corrective actions, customer approval (PPAP), etc.
  • Initiate PFMEA’s and control plans for new projects, maintain revisions as needed
