About The Position

The Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring that quality standards are met through testing, audits, and documentation. This role plays a key part in maintaining compliance with quality and food safety standards, as well as tracking and mitigating quality-related product losses.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Quality Management, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience in a quality-focused role.
  • 1-2 years of experience in quality assurance or a similar role, preferably in food manufacturing.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in testing and documentation.
  • Proficiency in data tracking and reporting.
  • Familiarity with GMP standards and quality auditing practices.
  • Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain organized records.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality lab tests to ensure products meet established specifications.
  • Support decisions and follow processes on blocking and unblocking materials by coordinating the initiation and release of product holds to maintain quality standards.
  • Conduct monthly Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) audits and provide actionable feedback to ensure compliance.
  • Manage and track quality holds coordinating with relevant teams to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Assist in preparing for and supporting internal and external audits, ensuring documentation and processes meet certification and compliance requirements
  • Perform calibrations and maintain records for facility temperature probes to ensure accurate monitoring.
  • Review and verify quality documentation for daily and weekly metal checks to maintain compliance and accuracy.
  • Monitor and record the cost of the lost product resulting from quality failures, providing insights into continuous improvement.
