About The Position

Focus on quality control activities in the Bayport, MN window manufacturing plant. Protect the Andersen Brand by verifying that quality standards are effectively being used to prevent, detect, and/or address non-conforming product. Requirements

  • 2- or 4-year degree in Technology/Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 2-5 years Quality/Manufacturing experience, preferably in window and door industry
  • Basic knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles
  • Basic knowledge of quality systems, SPC, and process capability
  • Strong aptitude in process improvement and problem solving

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Powerpoint) for data entry and editing of documentation for shop floor
  • Experience with aesthetic specifications and using visual standards
  • Practice with 5 Why and other problem-solving techniques
  • Knowledge of Window Quality specifications preferred
  • Experience training others
  • Intermediate math aptitude
  • Experience using measurement equipment
  • Ability to summarize data and present results
  • Ability to work well with others

Responsibilities

  • Define and implement robust process controls/error proofing solutions that ensure product conforms to specification and performance standards.
  • Perform daily review of processes to ensure they are operating within defined ranges.
  • Perform Finished Product Audits of production lines, communicate results, and elevate to leadership as appropriate.
  • Coordinate/Execute 8D/CAPA from customers & write to Suppliers
  • Gather information to initiate Corrective Actions requests for supplied or fabricated parts and assist root cause analyses to address.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Verify Quality Control standards and measurement equipment / methods are being used by associates to detect and address non-conforming parts/products.
  • Coordinate cycle of calibration for gauges/measurement devices.
  • Assist in containment of non-conforming material.
  • Lead the Material Review Board Meetings & coordinate with other groups to efficiently transact the NCM
  • Communicate, document, and provide training on quality standards.
  • Collect/record data to provide accurate test reports and understand process variation.
  • Spend 80%+ of time in production areas.
