About The Position

The Quality Technician is responsible for conducting testing to ensure that products comply with quality standards. This role involves following work instructions and company policies to perform quality assurance tasks efficiently. The technician collaborates with production teams to identify quality issues and ensure that only compliant products reach customers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-3 years of manufacturing experience
  • Good organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to calculate using the metric system
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to distinguish colors and shades
  • Ability to work independently

Responsibilities

  • Set up and perform multiple quality tests according to Control Plan and Procedures
  • Use measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, calibration standards, gram weight scales, and microscopes
  • Verify calibration of mechanical measurement tools
  • Measure samples accurately and timely
  • Approve first good sample after production startup
  • Enter statistical data and compile reports as necessary
  • Ensure that scheduled inspections are performed timely and accurately
  • Assist with updating work instructions
  • Maintain 5S in the Quality lab and other areas of responsibility
  • Work safely while handling and cutting glass
  • Commit to continual improvement of the environment through SSA's suggestion program
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations
  • Comply with SSA's Zero Emissions program
  • Prevent injury incidents by observing established working rules and safety training
  • Comply with all relevant employment laws and regulations
