DuraClass, a trusted name in manufacturing Class 3–8 dump truck bodies and hoists, is offering an exciting opportunity for a Quality Technichian Intern to join our team for Summer 2026. This internship is ideal for students interested in manufacturing, quality, and real-world engineering applications in a heavy-duty manufacturing setting. The Quality Engineering Intern will assist on projects that ensure all products meet internal and customer quality standards through inspections, audits, and process evaluations. This role plays a key part in driving continuous improvement efforts and supporting manufacturing teams by identifying, documenting, and helping to communicate and report quality issues. Responsibilities

  • Assist with inspections of welds and components for surface defects, including cracks, incomplete welds, pits, fabrication errors, installation issues, and paint flaws throughout various stages of production.
  • Perform inspections on fabricated components and machined parts under the guidance of Quality personnel.
  • Compare finished products to engineering drawings and specifications to verify basic dimensions and requirements.
  • Help identify, document, and track non-conforming parts and assist with trending of quality issues.
  • Support collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering, Supervisors, and Area Leads by communicating quality findings and observations.
  • Participate in internal audits and assist with audit preparation, documentation, and follow-up activities.
  • Support continuous improvement and Lean initiatives by following standard workflows, offering observations, and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Assist with basic quality data collection and analysis using tools such as Pareto charts, histograms, and other introductory statistical methods.
