This Quality Technician I role, designated as on-site and primarily 2nd shift (with potential of split shifts), involves performing quality control tasks using inspection and statistical techniques to ensure product compliance with customer requirements. The technician will define and resolve internal and external problems through systematic methodology, identifying root causes, implementing countermeasures, and verifying results.

Requirements

  • Must be detail oriented to ensure all quality requirements are met.
  • Use of Plant internal corrective action systems.
  • Use of Plant work order system.
  • Experience with MS Office products required, including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer, and Outlook.
  • Must pass computer proficiency test within 60 days.
  • Ability to learn computer software applications.
  • Must be a high-energy self-starter, results-oriented proactive and able to work effectively with little supervision.
  • Must be a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to effectively build relationships with employees at all levels.
  • Must be willing to work flexible work hours/OT as needed.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of relevant experience within manufacturing, or two (2) years of experience in Quality or an Operation function in Trane Technologies Clarksville.

Responsibilities

  • Solve problems related to quality, including establishing the necessary process controls.
  • Interpret drawings.
  • Support the implementation of containment actions to prevent process defects and/or escapes.
  • Perform internal product / process audits.
  • Control Plan audits and identify improvements.
  • Perform mechanical visual inspections (MVI), as assigned to the unit.
  • Create and maintain quality work instructions, visual aids, and Quality Alerts.
  • Evaluate Drawings and Engineering standards including critical dimensions.
  • Support lean initiatives and Problem Solving (5s, RIE's, SQDIP, MDI, 9 step).
  • Support of non-compliant material system, segregate and dispose of the material as required.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and procedures as per BOS and engineering standards.
  • Carry out calibration audits to verify that the equipment is within the calibration period.
  • Systems usage to support CTO clearing reject, evaluating /inspecting the rework completion.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures including those related to EHS & Engineering Standards.
  • FQA’s- initial investigation investigations support/closure and apply simple problem solving to the resolution.
  • Execute other tasks and projects, as required.
