About The Position

The Quality Technician I is responsible for ensuring compliance with food safety standards and quality initiatives within the production environment. This entry-level position involves performing quality checks on production lines, maintaining documentation, and collaborating with supervisors to address discrepancies in quality monitoring schemes. The role emphasizes attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols while supporting the overall mission of delivering high-quality food products.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; post-high school education preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 months experience as a Quality Assurance Technician required.
  • Preferred 1 year of experience as a QA Technician or in a technical department.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects on fast-moving production lines.
  • Basic understanding of machinery operations related to product quality adjustments.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills; Spanish proficiency is a plus.
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations, including fractions, ratios, and percentages.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is required.

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality checks on production lines every hour, often managing three lines simultaneously.
  • Report discrepancies in the Quality Monitoring Scheme to the Supervisor or Quality Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and customer requirements as outlined in the Bluebook for each product.
  • Complete daily paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area following 5-S principles.
  • Keep operational information confidential, including product and production details.
  • Maintain instrumentation and equipment in good condition.
  • Label, store, and organize samples and product retentions appropriately.
  • Follow Hold Procedures for non-conforming materials or products.
  • Assist in HACCP and Preventive Controls checks as needed.
  • Participate in test runs and new product trials as required.
  • Conduct other audits or inspections as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
