Here's a job description for a Quality Technician 2 at Jabil, Inc.: -404 Shift Wed/Thurs - Sat 6:00 PM - 5:30 AM Jabil, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Technician 2 to join our team. Job Summary: The Quality Technician 2 supports manufacturing operations by performing inspections, tests, and data analysis to ensure products meet established quality standards and specifications. This role contributes to maintaining high product quality and driving continuous improvement initiatives within our production environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in a technical field or related discipline preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a quality control or quality assurance role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications (GD&T knowledge is a plus).
  • Demonstrated experience using various precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, optical comparators).
  • Strong understanding of quality control principles, tools, and methodologies (e.g., statistical process control (SPC), 8D problem-solving).
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for data entry, analysis, and report generation.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with colleagues and reporting findings.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process, final, and first-article inspections of components, sub-assemblies, and finished products according to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality control plans.
  • Utilize various measurement tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMMs, optical comparators) to verify product dimensions and characteristics.
  • Document inspection results accurately and promptly, identifying and reporting non-conformances.
  • Assist in the investigation of root causes for quality issues and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Conduct functional tests and performance checks on products to ensure compliance with performance criteria.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to address quality concerns and implement solutions.
  • Participate in the calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Support the creation and revision of quality documentation, including inspection procedures, work instructions, and quality records.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects and lean manufacturing initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality and process efficiency.
  • Train and mentor less experienced quality technicians on inspection techniques and quality procedures, as needed.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
