Role Definition Seeking a highly skilled and proactive Quality Technician 2 to lead quality initiatives in switchgear assembly operations and new product launches. This role is pivotal in driving product excellence, ensuring process compliance, and supporting successful ramp-up of complex projects.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably in electrical or mechanical assembly.
  • Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in standard work practices and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to perform repetitive operations.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Switchgear or electrical equipment assembly.
  • Exposure to new product introduction (NPI) or project launch environments.
  • Ability to lead small teams or projects within a quality function.
  • Familiarity with lean, Six Sigma, or other quality improvement frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform in-process and final inspections of custom switchgear and standard control assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications and industry standards.
  • Champion quality activities for new project launches, including first-article inspections, process validations, and documentation reviews.
  • Analyze inspection data, identify trends, and recommend improvements to reduce defects and enhance efficiency.
  • Maintain and audit records of inspections, nonconformances, and corrective actions in digital systems.
  • Conduct internal audits for ISO 9001 compliance and mentor team members on standard work practices.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve quality issues and implement preventive measures.
  • Provide training and guidance to technicians and process partners on wiring, assembly, and quality best practices. Ability to assist with wiring if needed.
