Under limited supervision provides oversight and coordination of various quality support activities including the investigation, documentation, analysis and resolution of quality issues and other duties as assigned. Typically reports to a supervisor.

Requirements

  • 2 yr degree or 2 years functional experience
  • Ability to read & interpret blueprints

Responsibilities

  • Performing VEHR testing as well as conducting Vital 5 quality audit on component parts and root cause analysis on quality issues.
  • Measure components using CMM and provide findings
  • Perform PPAP validation
  • Validate parts from current suppliers and Product Development group.
  • Created programs for measuring and scanning the parts
  • Gathering assembly defect data and leading a team to support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Developing and updating successive checks and PQA checks for each area, including check sheets for the assembly line.
  • Ability to Follow Standard Work.
  • Following and utilizing CPS principles of 5S, Continuous Improvement Idea Reporting, Waste Elimination, and Standard Work.
  • Providing quality support to the plant by creating and developing business plans for each manufacturing assembly area.
  • Relying on independent decision-making and problem solving to complete job tasks.
  • The ability to multitask and prioritize work.
  • Document testing and root cause analysis in CPI.
  • Cataloguing quality issues into a computer system and flag defects for repair.
  • Providing oversight during the assembly process to ensure routings conform to work instructions as well as provide feedback to Engineering on design and manufacturing issues that emerge through the assembly process.
  • Working with Engineering on the solution to address the issue.
  • Meeting with suppliers as requested to determine and communicate root cause and cross-functional communication to complete tasks.
  • Be a contributing team member.
