The Quality Tech position involves performing inspections, measurements, and tests on incoming materials, in-process and finished products to ensure quality requirements are being met and processes are operating in control throughout the manufacturing process.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years’ experience in quality assurance manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical inspection background.
  • GD&T proficient.
  • SPC knowledge and use of SPC software (Mini-tab/MeasurLink).
  • Demonstrated problem solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and stay organized.
  • Good eyesight (20-20 or corrected).
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and handle parts up to 10 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CMM, optical comparator and contour tracer.
  • Ability to work shift flexible and weekends.
  • Good powers of observation.
  • Office equipment usage, particularly MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Performs inspections, measurements and tests on product and processes at various stages within the manufacturing process.
  • Collects samples for testing, inspection and measurement.
  • Conducts material and metallurgical testing and prepares metallurgical reports.
  • Reads, analyzes and uses drawings and blueprints to determine conformance to requirements.
  • Sets up and uses various types of inspection and measurement equipment.
  • Notifies supervisor of product or process deviations from specifications.
  • Records inspection, measurement and test data on designated forms or computer systems.
  • Observes and audits production operations processes to ensure adherence to work instructions.
  • Assists in or performs systems, process, product and supplier audits.
  • Trains or assists in training others in proper use of inspection, test or measurement equipment.
  • Participates in various cross-functional teams as the quality representative.
