About The Position

The Quality Team Manager at Ford Motor Company is responsible for championing the Quality Operating System (QOS) within the manufacturing team. This leadership role involves developing and mentoring plant personnel, managing quality processes, and driving corrective actions to resolve quality issues. The position requires a strong statistical background and the ability to implement quality tools effectively to ensure the production of world-class vehicles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • Strong statistical background.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.
  • Data analysis skills.
  • Mid-level AWS experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Quality engineering background preferred.
  • Engineering degree preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of the Ford Production System/Quality Operating System.
  • Working knowledge of Data Cubes/Common Metrics, AWS, BSAQ, ECB, GQRS, QLS.

Responsibilities

  • Champion the Quality Operating System (QOS).
  • Develop and mentor plant personnel on the QOS, coaching and training on the appropriate use of standard Quality Tools.
  • Deliver the plant Policy Deployment Process for Quality.
  • Manage the daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly Quality cadence for the plant (Daily Quality Reviews, PIC, VRT, PQR's, SAR reviews).
  • Manage department direct and indirect manning.
  • Lead monthly Local Joint Quality Meetings.
  • Drive to implementation of corrective actions to resolve quality issues using 8D tool, 6 panel, etc.
  • Resolve quality issues using 6-sigma tools.
  • Manage stability of the base QOS.
  • Identify sources of variation within the production environment effectively and efficiently.
  • Execute measurement systems analysis & variable data analysis.
  • Determine inspection equipment and facility requirements.
  • Oversee the layout of parts as required.
  • Lead the Incoming Quality activity.
  • Provide feedback concerns to appropriate departments identified by dealers and customers related to quality.
  • Manage pass-through for Warranty and Ford Plant Concerns.
  • Review internal/external suppliers for critical characteristics process compatibility.
  • Review incoming quality concerns; initiate containment, determine root cause and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate real-time supplier quality concern feedback to production departments.
  • Provide IQ support to contain suspect component concerns until certified stock arrives.
  • Oversee the review of supplier 8D's and the acceptance or rejection based on content.
  • Provide updates on suppliers to Purchasing, STA, and plant management.
  • Manage the reimbursement of plant expenses due to supplier quality concerns.
  • Lead Quality in all New Model Launch activities.
  • Travel to external suppliers and Ford Manufacturing locations as needed.
