Work Description: The Quality systems manager will Develop Quality Systems and Champion Quality Performance Improvements to reduce COPQ and increase customer satisfaction. This will also serve as the champion to lead and coach the team on Root cause analysis.

Requirements

  • 8-10 years experience in developing, evaluating and managing quality systems and building/leading quality teams
  • Advanced knowledge of QMS principles and practices and how to effectively implement within a collaborative culture
  • Expertise in teaching root cause analysis, CAPA, and other meaningful prevention efforts
  • Familiarity with industry standards e.g. ISO 9001 and manufacturing metrics.
  • Detailed understanding of 6-Sigma and SPC, general understanding of lean mfg.
  • Experience conducting internal and/or external audits
  • Demonstrated ability to hold stakeholders accountable without creating blame.
  • Ability to collaborate and influence across departments.
  • Motivated and highly involved leadership across office and production floor settings
  • Capable of creating and maintaining Critical to Quality documentation
  • Able to develop and deliver training programs to ensure all staff understand and comply with QMS requirements
  • Capable to use CAPA / corrective action processes to address nonconformances and process failures and prevent recurrence
  • Ready to teach and deploy primary quality tools and statistical analyses
  • Able to learn and perform tasks in Epicor (ERP system)
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to see the “big picture”
  • Very strong communication skills - team player, active listener
  • Flexible, intellectually curious, and proactive - looks for opportunities to fill cross functional process gaps
  • Business mindset / customer-oriented and budget conscious

  • Interest to grow and collaborate with all stakeholders
  • This position may require occasional lifting and carrying of moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and the ability to stand, walk, and move about the facility to perform job-related tasks.
  • The ability to use a computer and office equipment for extended periods.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, and reaching may be necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Build MVP Quality System
  • Parter with Operations to move QA processes from inspection-based to ?built-in? quality ecosystem
  • Digitize paper processes
  • Establish and lead programs, align responsibilities, and conduct QA training
  • Shape and influence quality culture and climate
  • Build visual quality cues and early warning systems / leading indicators
  • Lead Continuous Improvements
  • Use data to mobilize teams on critical COPQ opportunities or process gaps
  • Lead root cause / CAPA brainstorming and implementation teams to eliminate top severity / frequency defects and reduce warranty spend
  • Build Quality toolbox and educate team members on quality tools
  • Challenge sales, operations, and service leadership
  • Own Performance and Metrics Tracking
  • Generate and maintain the Supplier Material Complaint Log
  • Track internal defects and scrap. Use data to make process improvements
  • Other tasks as determined necessary for team success
  • Serve as primary inspector for finished products and subassemblies until quality systems are fully established and vetted
  • Proactively suggest data-driven improvements
  • Support other Quality team members while traveling (crating, incoming inspection, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned.
