About The Position

Quality Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving a company's Quality Management System (QMS IATF 6949) to ensure products and processes meet internal standards, regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 9001, 13485, AS9100, FDA), and customer needs. Quality Management System Maintenance & Development Design, implement, and enhance quality control systems aligned with ISO 9001 and industry standards Update and maintain quality manuals, procedures, SOPs, and change-control documentation Audits & Compliance Plan and conduct internal QMS audits and supplier audits Manage external audits from certification bodies, customers, and regulatory agencies CAPA & Problem Solving Lead root cause analysis on non-conformances and initiate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) Use quality methodologies (5S, Kaizen, FMEA, SPC) to drive continuous improvement Metrics & Reporting Monitor quality KPIs (e.g., yield, defect rate, audit outcomes) and generate performance dashboards Prepare reports for management review and drive data-driven improvements Training & Collaboration Develop and facilitate quality training to ensure awareness and compliance Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, and Supply Chain to embed quality standards Vendor & Product Support Evaluate supplier quality, conduct vendor audits, and support MRB activities Participate in new product development reviews to ensure quality requirements are met What we do here Our Florence, South Carolina distribution center charges, packages, and ships the batteries used in cars, boats, and motorcycles. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Industrial, Mechanical, or related technical field
  • 5+ years in Quality Systems Support or Management (medical device, aerospace, automotive manufacturing ideal, Battery background ideal)
  • Demonstrated experience with internal/external audits, CAPA management, supplier quality, QMS maintenance

Nice To Haves

  • IATF 6949 Auditor Certification ideal, CQE, CQA, CSSBB (Six Sigma Black Belt), Lean, or ASQ certifications
  • Lead acid or battery experience preferred

Responsibilities
