About The Position

Quality Systems Coordinator performs numerous essential functions to ensure the safety and quality of all incoming materials and finished products used and produced by the plant. The Quality Systems Coordinator answers to the QA Manager and must adhere to all company policies, standard operating procedures and customer regulations and specifications. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES Enforce the company’s Good Manufacturing Practices Policy. Perform verification of daily documentation. Release product in the inventory system. Update hold log for when proper disposition is determined. Perform annual internal policy review and provide updates to QA Manager for review. Organize and review all controlled documents in the facility. Create appropriate templates for forms and policies used in the facility. Stay current on all audit expectations: BRC, Taco Bell FSA, Taco Bell QSA, CFS, Whataburger, Wendy’s and any other customer expectation. Stay current on regulatory requirements for USDA and FDA (HACCP, FSMA, FSA, FDA Audits) Assist QA Manager in completing all audit corrective actions. Perform internal inspections of GMPs, Facility and Food Security. File and organize all training and CAPA documents. Assist QA Manager in follow-up of training requirements for the facility. Assist Sr. Director of Quality in internal audit of sister plant. Assist in customer complaint investigations. Assist Safety Manager on coordinating quality expectations for contractors. Additional responsibilities and duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Food Science or a related field
  • 3 years of job-related experience
  • HACCP Trained
  • BRC Trained
  • Must pay attention to details and be very organized
  • Good communication skills: written and oral
  • Must be able to interact with other department managers/supervisors/leads
  • Exercise mature judgment and character
  • Frequently stands, lifts 50 lbs., walks, reaches, stoops, bends, handles product, smells, listens, speaks and sees
  • Basic computer skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Must be a team player and be able to work cross-functionally
  • Must be able to work unsupervised
