About The Position

The Quality Supervisor is responsible for day‑to‑day quality operations within a personal care contract manufacturing facility. This role provides direct supervision to a team of quality technicians and has hands‑on responsibility for quality oversight of incoming raw materials and packaging components, in‑process production, and finished product release. The Quality Supervisor ensures compliance with GMP, regulatory (ISO, FDA, Organic, etc.), customer, and internal quality requirements while supporting production schedules and driving consistent execution on the manufacturing floor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience supervising or leading quality personnel.
  • Strong working knowledge of GMP and quality management systems.
  • Experience with incoming inspection, in‑process quality control, and finished product release.
  • Proven ability to balance quality requirements with production demands.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference for Lean, Six Sigma or quality certification.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise, coach, and develop a team of approximately six quality technicians/inspectors.
  • Assign daily work, manage shift coverage, and ensure adequate quality support for production operations.
  • Provide real‑time decision‑making and escalation support for quality issues on the production floor.
  • Conduct performance feedback, training, and disciplinary actions in accordance with company policies.
  • Oversee inspection, sampling, and disposition of incoming ingredients, packaging, and production supplies.
  • Ensure materials meet specifications prior to release for production use.
  • Lead investigations into supplier quality issues, including nonconformances, corrective actions, and material risk assessments.
  • Partner with Procurement and Planning to minimize supply disruptions while maintaining quality standards.
  • Provide quality oversight during manufacturing, filling, and packaging operations.
  • Ensure adherence to GMP, SOPs, batch records, and work instructions.
  • Review and approve batch documentation, in‑process inspection results, and finished product release documentation.
  • Lead investigations into nonconforming material, deviations, and hold/release decisions for finished goods.
  • Support internal audits, customer audits, and third‑party audits, including preparation and on‑site execution.
  • Ensure audit observations related to shop‑floor quality execution are addressed and closed effectively.
  • Maintain compliance with GMP, regulatory (ISO, FDA, Organic, etc.), and customer‑specific requirements.
  • Monitor and report key quality performance indicators (KPIs) such as defects, holds, scrap, and rework.
  • Identify trends and partner with Operations and Engineering to drive continuous improvement.
  • Promote a strong quality culture focused on right‑first‑time execution and customer satisfaction.
