About The Position

The Quality Supervisor plans and directs activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials and products. Supervisory responsibilities for a group of employees involved in inspection and quality control procedures with regard to purchased material, in-process material and finished products to assure that quality control standards are achieved.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • 3 plus years of work experience in quality assurance.
  • Experience in automotive seating.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and assign work of Quality Inspectors and Technicians.
  • Assist in maintaining customer satisfaction using plant quality assurance methods.
  • Review product quality issues through direct communication with Quality Department Employees to ensure their knowledge of changes in procedures and standards.
  • Respond immediately to quality concerns within or outside the plant addressing the defect, cause, resolution, and verification used to correct the concern (8D).
  • Provide support to IATF 16949 activities.
  • Serve as a cross functional team member with tasks such as Control Plan’s, FMEA’s, 8D’s and SPC.
  • Maintain an 8-D / corrective action log on supplier rejections.
  • Assist in maintaining the Gage room and the distribution of measuring equipment as well as calibration requirements.
  • Suggest and implement changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase safety and efficiency of the department or plant.
  • Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Maintain discipline, morale and harmonious relations among direct reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
