About The Position

As the Quality Supervisor you will manage and coordinate the Quality Control functions and related quality assurance activities for all products manufactured by the plant or product. You will drive the implementation of the Eaton Lean Six Sigma program and the Eaton Quality Management System program to improve productivity, reduce costs, improve quality, and meet mandated EBS goals. Manage quality control activities to ensure the conformance of manufactured products/equipment with customer specifications and their unique product performance requirements. Provide the Quality interface and expertise between the operation and its customers including managing complaints and taking corrective actions. Lead the error-proofing activities in the facility and participate in efforts to reduce cost of quality and drive process improvements and provide other coordination and technical guidance to production personnel as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business from an accredited institution.
  • Three (3) years experience in Quality, Manufacturing, or Product Engineering.
  • No relocation is being offered for this role. Only candidates currently residing TODAY within a 50-mile radius of Eaton's Greenwood SC facility will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • CQE or CQM Certification
  • Thorough understanding of problem solving methods-i.e. Six Sigma, 8D, root cause analysis, and the associated statistical tools to analyze problems, evaluate and complete improvement projects.
  • Working knowledge of ISO, Quality Management System and Six Sigma.
  • Detailed knowledge of process auditing techniques to ensure compliance to defined quality requirements.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Process Variation Reduction (Six Sigma) concepts and tool sets as they relate to process/product variability, and root cause and corrective action determination.
  • Thorough knowledge of gauging and inspection techniques
  • Strong problem-solving skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Inspection team and scrap coordinator within the facility.
  • Maintains Quality Management system policies and procedures to ensure continued compliance with the ISO-9001 international quality standard and EQMS
  • Leads deployment of the Eaton Quality Management System within the plant.
  • Develop and monitor manufacturing quality procedures, standards, training activities, and communication programs.
  • Develop and coordinate problems and activities to assess and improve manufacturing processes and product quality.
  • Plan and coordinate the use, calibration, maintenance, and application of all electrical test equipment and process control equipment within the company.
  • Develop ELS/EQMS strategy, define actions, and coordinate cross functional activities to implement an Eaton Best Practice Lean System to Continuously look for and identify Business Improvement Initiatives that support Eaton’s Corporate Vision and Goals
  • Provide Off site and On-Site Training sessions. Benchmark other plants for best-in-class processes and suggests implementation opportunities and implement the best practices if applicable.
  • Perform the necessary audits of the plants’ operations to evaluate opportunities for implementation of various ELS and EQMS improvement initiatives
  • Advice and counsel plant management members on developing and implementing improvement strategies.
  • Continuously enhance personal skills and knowledge of the subject matters pertaining to the operations initiatives, through networking, education, training and participation in internal / external conference. Create an environment where change is appreciated and pursued by looking at the structure and culture of the organization.
  • Utilize Eaton Lean and quality tools to drive cost reduction and improve working capital performance.
  • Analytical and Statistical Tools, External Requirements, Inspection and Testing, and Product / Process Quality Planning
  • Maintain a safe working environment within assigned plant areas to protect employees from injury and damage or misuses of company equipment and property. Participate in and provide support for a variety of safety committees, environmental programs, and related activities as needed to ensure a safe and clean work place for employees.
  • Supports MESH, ELSS, PROLaunch and other Eaton initiative
