The Quality Supervisor, EMP is responsible for assisting management with the execution of quality control programs and systems at the JBSS plant. This role manages all aspects of the Environmental Monitoring Program (EMP) and coordinates First Production Runs (FPR), outbound Certificate of Analysis (COA) shipments, and sensory activities. Supporting the Quality Systems Manager, the Quality Supervisor provides leadership to ensure continuity of quality and food safety programs.

  • Manages plant EMP activities, including scheduling weekly swabbing, shipping swabs to third-party labs, maintaining the database of results, coordinating plant responses to findings or special cause events, closing out investigations, and communicating with cross-functional teams.
  • Participates in recurring customer calls to discuss EMP data, trends, and corrective actions as needed.
  • Leads quality-relevant actions during First Production Runs (FPR), including reviewing finished and WIP products, communicating product information, and shipping products to customers.
  • Supports new product launches by ensuring appropriate quality specifications are identified and validated.
  • Performs product cuttings of competitive NBE as needed.
  • Develops and maintains databases and programs to track COAs, product testing, and customer specifications.
  • Ensures timely testing, sample shipments, result monitoring, and release of COA orders across all facilities.
  • Responsible for training, scheduling, and development of quality technicians and leads.
  • Assists in the implementation of quality and food safety training, and supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of production-related quality policies, procedures, programs, and systems.
  • Participates in regulatory inspections, monthly plant GMP audits, and GFSI or customer audits such as SQF and AIB.
  • Makes proactive recommendations and offers solutions to the Quality Systems Manager to improve quality and operational efficiencies.
