Job Summary This Quality Specialist is responsible for documenting and reporting inspections, testing and audit findings. The role will participate in problem solving and continual improvement activities associated with processes and products. The Quality Specialist will assist with the implementation of quality processes, methods, and tools.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • 2 years of related quality and process experience in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to utilize basic inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges
  • Knowledge of basic quality tools such as: 7D, 8D, 5 Whys, Pareto Charts, FMEAs, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, Tree Diagrams, Cause and Effect Diagrams (Fishbone), Control Charts, Check Sheets and Scatter Diagrams
  • Ability to effectively interact with a cross functional team
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written skills
  • Demonstrate strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years of experience in programming and operating of Direct Computer Controlled (DCC) Coordinated Measuring Machine (CMM)
  • Ability to work overtime as needed including weekends

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in performing process and product audits against quality requirements
  • Assisting in performing incoming, in-process and end-of-line inspection/testing of products including the utilization of basic inspection tools such as micrometer, calipers, and height gauges
  • Locating and provide requested quality documentation per customer requirements
  • Assisting in conducting problem solving by utilizing the 5 Why and 8D methodologies
  • Assisting in continual improvement activities by utilizing basic quality methods and tools
  • Participating in the Advanced Quality Planning activities associated with new products or processes
