About The Position

The Quality Specialist at HARIBO of America plays a crucial role in ensuring food safety and product quality at the company's first North American factory in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin. This position involves conducting various testing procedures on raw materials and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards, while minimizing downtime. The Quality Specialist will coordinate and execute the quality program to guarantee the safe production of HARIBO products, working closely with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Biology or Food Science, or a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Quality role at an FDA/USDA-regulated manufacturing facility with a high school diploma.
  • Experience in a Quality Control factory and/or laboratory testing environment preferred.
  • Strong written, analytical, and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of FSSC 22000/ISO 22000, HACCP Certification and/or experience.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, or similar tools.
  • Ability to collaboratively work cross-functionally across departments.
  • Proven ability to utilize systems and good administrative practices to maintain an efficient work schedule.
  • Resourceful and professionally persistent; able to problem solve and search for solutions using internal and external networks.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Measure and monitor processes and products through the utilization of testing and procedures.
  • Perform incoming goods, in process and finished product inspections per approved procedures.
  • Perform sensory, physical, and packaging evaluations.
  • Ensure that lab documents and lab data (paper and electronic) are properly classified, controlled, and stored.
  • Perform analysis of samples as required using analytical instrumentation and benchtop methodologies.
  • Ensure that all measures to guarantee finished products' compliance with specifications are properly executed.
  • Perform and/or verify equipment calibration per established procedures and frequencies as directed.
  • Work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment to mitigate food safety opportunities as needed.
