The position involves adherence to the Cardinal Rules of Safety and requires reading and interpreting inspection procedures, blueprints, engineering drawings, tolerances, and specifications to apply requirements in sheet metal inspection activities. The role includes selecting and using measurement gages to verify quality characteristics and evaluating results to determine conformance to drawing/blueprint specifications. The individual will lead efforts to assist teams with assigned inspection and measurement activities on the sheet metal fabrication production floor to support problem identification, containment, and resolution. Responsibilities also include interpreting component blueprints/drawings for First Article Inspection (FAI) and any assigned PPAP sample inspection activities, completing assigned inspection tasks, and escalating any Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) misses or nonconformances. The role requires providing support to operations in sorting, inspection, containment, and segregation of non-conforming material from production inventory, as well as documenting and updating actions on quality issues. Participation in Quality Management System (QMS) audit activities is also required.
