About The Position

The Data Analyst will provide research and analytical support to a team of Quality professionals supporting Adena Health’s Quality, Safety, and Service Programs. Under general supervision and within Adena Health established policies, the Analyst analyzes, evaluates, manages, reports, and consults on various sources of quality, safety, patient experience, and other performance data through Adena Health. The person will assist with surveillance and analysis of quality/safety/service data, recommending mitigating actions, and leading quality improvements projects as assigned. Will act as Quality IT infrastructure support for Quality utilization including but not limited to: Press Ganey (HRP, Fusion, Foundation), DataVision, Cactus, Health Catalys, Q-Centrix, etc. Statistically supports the evidence-based development and implementation of Adena Health’s improvement agenda for clinical excellence, service excellence, operational excellence, and patient safety. Statistically supports the implementation of Adena Health’s applied evidence-based performance improvement initiatives. Contribute to improving health outcomes for our members and enhancing the overall patient experience. Experience with data techniques and approaches to handle large amounts of data. Experience in maintaining data warehouse, reporting, and analytics. Operates as subject matter expert to understand analytic needs within the business, performs the analysis, and deploys the results/solutions back to the business partners. Communicate effectively with less technical business partners to understand business problems, suggest solutions, and measure outcomes. Experience developing BI solutions with tools like: Power BI; Tableau; MIDAS.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree OR Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Physics, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum two years of experience in data analysis, Power BI, EPIC.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree.
  • CPHQ-Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality; Six Sigma/Lean.
  • Two to four years of experience in an analytic role in a healthcare setting or demonstrated experience in research, statistical analyses, quantitative and qualitative assessment.
  • Strong analytical, systems-thinking, project management, and facilitation skills aimed at performance improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Act as IT support for Quality utilization including but not limited to: Press Ganey (HRP, Fusion, Foundation), DataVision, Cactus, Health Catalys, Q-Centrix, etc.
  • Contribute to all phases of the project including data preparation, data cleaning and interpretation, analysis, model building, quality assessments, and presentation of results.
  • Develop and/or use algorithms and statistical predictive models and determine analytical approaches and modeling techniques to evaluate scenarios and potential future outcomes.
  • Identify, collect, and analyze data specific to improvement projects.
  • Use collected data to define and measure quality processes, identify variation from accepted standards of practice, and define patterns and trends.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional business partners to understand their problems and goals, develop predictive modeling, statistical analysis, data reports, and performance metrics.
  • Develop and participate in presentations and consultations to existing and prospective constituents on analytics results and solutions.
  • Interact with internal and external peers and managers to exchange complex information related to areas of specialization.
  • Meet with customers to define needs and to understand business requirements to ensure appropriate program and systems development decisions are made.
  • Assist with the design and maintenance of regional databases and support and run scheduled IS jobs using database integration tools that are Microsoft and/or web-based.
  • Establish written guidelines for maintenance of technical systems when required, and participate in test plans for new applications.
  • Conduct information flow analysis and feasibility studies.
  • Suggest alternatives and recommendations to address specific departmental needs for information and technology-based solutions as required.
  • Ensure that databases with confidential information including, but not limited to personnel information and Protected Health Information (PHI) are protected using industry standard tools and protocols and Adena password protocols.
  • Maintain proficiency with requisite level of knowledge in information services and applications utilized at Adena Health, and by participating in educational opportunities and professional organizations.
  • Maintain and access/provide end-user reports, access to information gathered from various sources across Adena Health.
  • Provide system administrative duties for applications and modules at Adena Health for managing patient safety and performance improvement.
  • Design, code, test, and debug various software modules programmed to integrate data into specific reporting formats.
  • Create database integration tools that are Microsoft and/or web-based.
  • Serve as a technical resource for Adena Health System Quality Support, Patient Safety, Ambulatory Process and Clinical Excellence, and affiliate Quality/Safety departments, teams, and project leads on functionality of developed applications.
