About The Position

As a Customer Quality Resident Engineer, you will be responsible for the detection and drive action plans to reach Customer Quality expectations. You will interface with the customer for Quality matters and ensure Valeo Quality strategies are applied. This role will require a candidates to be located near or around Columbus, Georgia.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Manufacturing/Plant Quality Engineer, Supplier Quality Engineer, Resident Engineer, or similar.
  • 3+ years of experience in the automotive or related industry.
  • Knowledge in Quality methodology and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Enhance awareness of customer expectations by maintaining a permanent dialogue with quality staff at the customer site.
  • Participate in periodic quality briefing meetings.
  • Periodically distribute briefing notes to the Group.
  • Eliminate line failures in cooperation with the Divisions involved.
  • Ensure normal flow very quickly for the customer.
  • Characterize the problem in the QR PDCA, completing 5W2H, doing first level analysis and send it to concerned branches.
  • Speed-up the sending back of bad parts and if possible good part(s) to be compared with.
  • Manage sorting operations at Customer and on advanced platforms.
  • Challenge the logical thinking of the PDCA analysis sent by the Divisions.
  • Inform levels N+x if no progress is made on PDCA improvement required.
  • React quickly when customers’ contacts become dissatisfied.
  • Protect the customer by managing sorting operations and implementing surveys.
  • Present the PDCA/FTA-LLC with Division representatives when requested by the Customer.
  • Provide the Divisions with detailed information about the customer's organization and operating methods.
  • Support Divisions in case of language issue with the Customer.
  • Assist in development of New Vehicle Programs by identifying planned launches and Valeo products involved.
  • Support Project Teams with alignment of Customer Project Milestones, Deliverables, and Terminology.
  • Confirm with Customer and Project Teams, Lessons Learned in current applications.
  • Define Launch Readiness Review Plan for key milestones.
  • Alert on any issue which could impact the launch.
  • Manage index changes for production line batches and advance stock.
  • Facilitate communication between contacts at the Automaker site and the Valeo site during new product testing.
