The position maintains quality standards by approving incoming materials and recording quality results, analyzing information, reporting research results, and promoting process improvement.

  • Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting unacceptable materials.
  • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database.
  • Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions, calling for repairs.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
  • Involves working with Engineering and other departments to evaluate products and report results.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
  • Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years inspection experience.
  • Experience working with electrical harnesses and/or connectors is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of using video measuring systems is desirable.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 and/or ISO 9001.
  • Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620 and other Aerospace workmanship and quality standards.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Good understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and use of vision systems and/or coordinate measuring equipment.
  • Proficient working with basic precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, dial/digital indicators, height gages, thread gages, pin gages, etc.
  • Experience performing first article inspection in accordance with AS9102 or equivalent.
  • Comfortable working with binocular microscopes for extended periods.
  • Ability to pass Visual Acuity requirements (color, depth perception and field of vision).
  • Ability to read, comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Ability to work independently, focus, organize work, and complete assignments on time.
