About The Position

Representing the communication and cooperation link between Viega North America and Viega DE. The Quality Project Engineer is responsible for working with cross-functional teams to support projects regards new machines, products and process adaption. This Role will support the application of implemented QMS documentation and execution.  As part of the quality team, the Quality Project Engineer will be responsible for quality input and review of design specifications, supplier qualification, development test plan, risk management activities, design verification and validation review, machine acceptances and cross functional follow ups all over Viega as a unit. Focus is set on improving the standardization and education for interactions and article transition related items to smoothen that process and solving problems by collecting and providing data for Viega North America. A high adaptability and flexibility are highly required.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of computer programs including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, CAQ, SV Hana and LIMS
  • Advanced knowledge of quality inspection tools
  • Strong knowledge of math to compute measurements and perform studies
  • Advanced Knowledge of APQP
  • Knowledge of DIN EN ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Strong knowledge in Development processes and verification tools.
  • Strong knowledge in engineering troubleshooting.
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to perform root cause failure analysis

  • Bachelor`s degree in Engineering
  • 3-4 years of quality or engineering related work experience
  • OR
  • Other degree Quality or Engineering related
  • + 5 years of quality or engineering related work experience

Nice To Haves

  • ASQ training and certifications (CQIA & CQI) preferred.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt (SSGB) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Gathering, evaluating and transferring information to standardize transition processes.
  • Analytic thinking with highest commitment to support the communication and knowledge between Viega DE and Viega North America.
  • Measurable short term and long-term improvements and maintaining control of transition projects.
  • Perform and complete First Article Inspections (FAI) and testing of new and existing product lines according to established standards; determine need for appropriate verification and corrective action; prepare associated reports regarding results and findings.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless transfer of new products to production, according to developed standards; ensure products and processes comply with the requirements of the Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to construct and implement developing test plans for qualifying new products, process and equipment; detail requirements PPAPs and Supplier qualifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system/product design and production process requirements while performing and facilitating risk analysis, including assisting with Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) and/or other risk analysis for products and processes; follow up to ensure completion of resulting action items
  • Create and modify inspection plans in Computer Aided Quality (CAQ) system and create new Product/Process Control Plans (PCP’s).
  • Setup and complete Internal Market Viability (IMV) testing.
  • Perform R&R studies and capability studies of new manufacturing processes, equipment, and tooling.
  • Perform both mechanical and basic electrical inspections using gauges, micrometers, microscopes, coordinate-measuring machines (CMM) and other necessary inspection tools.
  • Perform data analysis to improve process stability while supporting cross-functional teams to improve quality throughout the production process.
  • Coordinate the exchange of information and analysis between manufacturing plants as well as suppliers
  • Ensure information flow between the US facilities as well as international within Viega.
  • Own responsibility on gathering and transferring information and implement standardized processes.
  • Building trust and be the link between the Viega facilities internationally.
  • Assist with establishing, creating, implementing and maintaining Quality Management Systems (QMS) procedures and documents for Ohio.
  • Conduct Supplier audits; complete all necessary reporting; respond to audit findings by proposing and implementing corrective action, as necessary.
  • Verify overall performance through capability analysis of measurement and production systems
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.
