About The Position

In this role, you will report to the Senior Service Manager and will work closely with the Avantor's Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science. The ideal candidate should reside in the San Diego, La Jolla, Oceanside, Irvine, and or South San Francisco, San Jose, Hayward, Oakland, or Berkeley. Core hours are from Monday -Friday 8am to 5pm, but flexibility outside these hours is required.

Requirements

  • BA or BS accredited college or university strongly preferred, or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • 5+ years of related or applicable experience, 5+ years of Lean Six Sigma preferred in logistics, laboratory and scientific support services.
  • Demonstrated project management and process improvement expertise, with a strong understanding of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Strong mathematical skills and expertise in Excel and spreadsheet management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to build effective working relationships.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to guide and manage teams.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Exceptional presentation skills.
  • Capable of gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing data to draw sound conclusions.
  • Extensive project management experience.
  • Well-organized, results-driven individual.

Nice To Haves

  • Microsoft Teams experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with Inventory Manager, SAP, and client-specific systems to ensure proper configuration and setup.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee projects with a focus on continuous improvement, ensuring effective execution and delivery of objectives.
  • Regularly update and manage accounts in alignment with system requirements and quality standards, including Inventory Manager.
  • Coordinate and manage physical setup and implementation activities.
  • Develop, execute, and refine continuous improvement strategies.
  • Conduct initial site walkthroughs for geographical assignments to assess needs.
  • Design, train, and focus on key inventory metrics, including 90-day no-move reports, discontinued item tracking, and Blank UOM initiatives.
  • Define and implement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Support and manage system setups, including reconfiguring systems to meet client needs.
  • Perform audits at service locations, assist with account setups, and help develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Lead Gemba walks to assess service locations, facilitating Kaizen and problem-solving events.
  • Provide training on processes, systems, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Conduct general audits to ensure operations and systems are set up and functioning as expected.
