Position Specific Description This position is essential for driving continuous improvement and standardization across Engineering & Construction (E&C) Battery Energy Storage (BESS) processes for utility-scale energy projects. As the Quality Projects subject matter expert (SME), you will play a critical role in optimizing core engineering workflows, standardizing processes, and ensuring seamless coordination between departments. You will foster cross-departmental collaboration while establishing best practices that improve project delivery efficiency and quality across all company energy infrastructure projects. This is considered a critical support role to the Energy Storage Engineering and broader E&C teams.

  • Minimum 5-years industry experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Act as Quality Projects subject matter expert (SME) for utility-scale energy infrastructure development processes.
  • Lead improvements to core E&C processes, with particular focus on optimizing the transmission interconnection process for enhanced efficiency and reduced project timelines.
  • Develop, implement, and standardize backfeed service agreement templates and procedures, ensuring consistency across all project types and jurisdictions.
  • Coordinate and streamline permitting processes between engineering, environmental, and construction departments, establishing clear workflows and communication protocols.
  • Enhance the Power Generation Division (PGD) transition process by identifying critical turnover items, standardizing handoff procedures, and ensuring seamless knowledge transfer between project phases.
  • Oversee and continuously improve QA/QC processes for engineering designs, implementing standardized review procedures, checklists, and quality metrics to ensure design excellence and code compliance.
  • Serve as primary liaison for financing due diligence activities, coordinating responses to lender questions, preparing technical documentation packages, and ensuring all engineering deliverables meet financing requirements.
  • Standardize processes and documentation across the organization, ensuring consistent procedures and messaging in every region where projects are deployed.
