The position is responsible for using the total quality approach as a standard and serves as a resource for process skills, developing the skills necessary to properly run lab operations. The role ensures that proper systems are in place and utilized, systematically improving process control by setting daily direction and control strategy for the department. It is crucial that department employees are trained on Quality Assurance (QA) and understand their direct impact on the total quality approach. The individual will serve as the primary contact for department interfacing regarding quality issues, support defined testing on production orders, Test Plans, and Special Requests as performed by QA Technicians, and accurately complete data sheets, entering them into the SPC system to look for trends or out-of-spec (OOS) data points as necessary. The role also involves supporting testing through defined control plans, controlling inspection, measuring, and test equipment (including calibration), and leading investigations to facilitate resolutions of lab-related non-conformances using problem-solving techniques. The use of SAP-QM (Non-conformance System) to report any non-conformances, suspect material, or trends to the appropriate Production Supervisor for immediate investigation and resolution is also required. Occasional lifting of up to 50-pound boxes and work on the manufacturing floor with people and processes is expected.
