The position is responsible for using the total quality approach as a standard and serves as a resource for process skills, developing the skills necessary to properly run lab operations. The role ensures that proper systems are in place and utilized, systematically improving process control by setting daily direction and control strategy for the department. It is crucial that department employees are trained on Quality Assurance (QA) and understand their direct impact on the total quality approach. The role also involves supporting testing through defined control plans, controlling inspection, measuring, and test equipment (including calibration), and leading investigations to facilitate resolutions of lab-related non-conformances using problem-solving techniques. The use of SAP-QM (Non-conformance System) to report any non-conformances, suspect material, or trends to the appropriate Production Supervisor for immediate investigation and resolution is also required.
