The position is responsible for using the total quality approach as a standard and serves as a resource for process skills, developing the skills necessary to properly run lab operations. The role involves ensuring that proper systems are in place and utilized, systematically improving process control, and setting daily direction and control strategy for the department. It is crucial that department employees are trained on Quality Assurance (QA) and understand their direct impact on the total quality approach. The position also serves as the primary contact for department interfacing regarding quality issues, supports defined testing on production orders, and ensures accurate completion of data sheets entered into the SPC system. Additionally, the role includes controlling inspection, measuring, and test equipment, leading investigations of lab-related non-conformances, and utilizing SAP-QM to report any non-conformances or trends for immediate investigation and resolution. Occasional lifting of up to 50-pound boxes and work on the manufacturing floor with people and processes is required.

  • Use SAP-QM to report non-conformances and trends.
  • High school education or equivalent.
  • QA technician experience is preferred.
  • Familiar with QA lab testing, SPC principles, and Quality Function deployment.
  • Proficient with computers, SAP, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to make decisions regarding product Quality consistent with Quality principles.
  • Set priorities and organize workload to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to follow sampling plans, work instructions, and lab protocols without supervision.
  • Interpret test results for conformance to specifications.
  • Conformance to Customer and 3rd Party Standards.
  • Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Good math skills.
