About The Position

Opened in 2010, Palmdale Regional Medical Center is a 184-bed, acute care hospital located in Palmdale, CA. One of Southern California's newest hospitals and featuring all-private patient rooms, Palmdale Regional provides high-quality, award-winning patient care to residents and visitors of the Antelope Valley and surrounding areas. Palmdale Regional is active in the community and regularly participates with the Antelope Valley Board of Trade/Greater Antelope Valley Economic Alliance (now AV Edge), and other civic and governmental groups. Palmdale Regional believes in 'Community Service Excellence' and supports nonprofit agencies and other healthcare related organizations. Palmdale Regional recently joined the newly created regional brand, Southwest Healthcare. This comprehensive network of care incorporates five hospitals in the southern California region and includes multiple convenient ambulatory locations serving many communities. With more than 7,000 skilled and talented care providers across the region, all dedicated to the highest standards, the shared goal is to provide convenient access to a wide range of healthcare services.

Requirements

  • Associate degrees from an accredited College or University in Nursing required.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University preferred.
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in an acute care setting required.
  • Previous experience in Quality Management or Performance Improvement preferred.
  • RN Licensure, ACLS AND or BLS.
  • Previous experience in case review, quality management, chart audits and/or implementing actions to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Understanding of the goals of the Center of Excellence (COE) programs.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills required to effectively collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to simultaneously address and prioritize multiple projects, demands and issues.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills, advanced analytical skills.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of self-motivation, assertiveness, and goal-attaining capabilities.
  • Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality preferred or obtained within the first year of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates the peer review processes of providers.
  • Evaluates a physician's clinical performance and patient care.
  • Collaborates with physicians and nursing leadership to screen and analyze medical records.
  • Ensures that services provided adhere to established quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Assists in monitoring the quality of treatment in inpatient and outpatient settings through focused studies and assigned routine monitoring.
