Requirements
- Knowledge of cable and harness assembly methods
- Familiar with IPC-A-620 standards
- Familiar with IPC-A-610 standards
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Cable and Harness Inspector/Assembler in electronic manufacturing or related fields
- Ability to read schematics, assembly drawings, and identify wiring components
- Proficient in documenting Certificates of Conformance (COC)
- Strong organizational, communication, and software adaptation skills
- This position requires access to ITAR-controlled technical data and/or defense articles. As such, the candidate must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. lawful permanent resident (green card holder) to comply with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Applicants who do not meet these criteria will not be considered for this role.
Nice To Haves
- Certified or previously certified in IPC-A-620 or IPC-A-610
- Diploma or GED from an accredited high school or technical school; college degree in engineering
- Knowledge of electronic contract manufacturing and LEAN manufacturing
- Preferred: 5 years of experience, with 2 years as a Cable and Harness Inspector
Responsibilities
- Perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections at one or more client suppliers
- Ensure products meet quality and specification standards
- Verify safety wire orientation, correct turns, and pigtails as per specifications
- Confirm shipping documentation is legible and accurate (part number, serial number, etc.)
- Check documentation packages to industry standards and classify defects
- Interpret manufacturing drawings and identifying non-conformances
- Periodically verify accuracy and ensure productivity to meet production schedules
- Maintain equipment and keep the work area organized
Benefits
- 50% hourly rate for any travel time ("p2p")
- Mileage reimbursement at the US gov't rate ($0.72 per mile driven). Untaxed.
