About The Position

To ensure that customers receive a quality machined die cast product by performing proper inspections of all produced product for defects and proper customer specifications.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Willingness to obtain a Gibbs issued Powered Industrial Truck License.
  • Six months or more related experience.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and others team members.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Basic computer knowledge including Database and Manufacturing software.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations and to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Must be willing and able to complete all required classes assigned through the training matrix.

Responsibilities

  • Operate machining equipment per specifications.
  • Perform the final inspection/off-line inspection as directed by control plan in a timely manner.
  • Perform containment activities per QS3098 upon identification of non-conforming product.
  • Assist in training Machine Line Operators on the proper operation of equipment, record keeping, inspection methods, safe work habits, and minor equipment maintenance.
  • Verify correct SWAT charts are displayed and legible in all assigned workstations.
  • Ensure operators in assigned workstations follow instructions as directed by SWAT charts or supervisors and reports any issues to the Group Leader.
  • Ensure all routing tags/labels are correct and properly attached to baskets/skids.
  • Notify Machine Operator and Group Leader of production stops (i.e. equipment down) in assigned workstations.
  • Relieve cell team members in assigned workstations for breaks and lunch.
  • Able to work weekends and overtime as required.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance, in accordance with scheduled work hours, and overtime (OT) as assigned.
  • Meet all physical and environmental requirements.
