About The Position

The Quality Measures Analyst- Critical Care (QMA) reports directly to the Director of Quality and assists with coordinating the development, implementation, and evaluation of the PICU and IMCU Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) program directly in line with the quality initiatives in the inpatient critical care areas. This includes, but is not limited to, the following: supports the hospital’s Performance Improvement process; identifies performance trends; as well as prioritizes and recommends improvements to attain the standards set forth by Designation. The QMA also plays a supportive role in ensuring compliance with all The Joint Commission (TJC) standards. The QMA will investigate specific areas of concern as identified by the PICU/IMCU leadership and Quality Department for PICU, IMCU, EMU, and hospital initiatives. The QMA provides leadership towards achieving compliance, and/or developing suitable alternatives that will meet regulatory requirements aligned with the hospital’s Mission and Values.

Requirements

  • Minimum three years RN clinical experience in PICU
  • Working knowledge of EMR documentation
  • Current RN License to practice in the State of Texas
  • BLS certified through the American Heart Association or the Red Cross
  • PALS certified
  • TNCC certifiec
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing required
  • Highly effective oral and written communication skills
  • Possesses effective interpersonal relationship skills
  • Ability to make effective group presentations
  • Strong knowledge of EMR technology
  • Knowledge of professional nursing principles, practices, concepts, and procedures as applied to the care of the patient population served
  • Ability to utilize computer software applications to include word processing, spreadsheets and power point
  • Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in Critical Care Registered Nursing preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
