About The Position

The Quality Manager at Actalent is responsible for overseeing the quality assurance of procured and manufactured products, ensuring high standards are met throughout the production process. This role involves direct interaction with customers to address quality and service concerns, as well as providing support and guidance to management and operational staff. The Quality Manager will implement process control and improvement methods, conduct audits, and manage quality reporting measures to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management.
  • Previous quality management experience in a medium to large organization.
  • Ability to read manufacturing drawings and use measurement equipment.
  • Demonstrated use of Root Cause Problem Solving tools and techniques.
  • Broad knowledge of statistics and statistical process control principles.
  • Diverse knowledge of inspection and control methods, techniques, and documentation.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Efficient computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Considerable attention to detail.
  • Ability to apply high ethical standards and represent the organization professionally.
  • Strong internal and external customer service ethos.
  • Experience in managing and developing staff.

Nice To Haves

  • Certificate in quality management or higher management-related qualification.
  • Knowledge of assembly, welding, and fabrication industries.
  • Experience in the Heavy Equipment, Transportation, or Automotive industry.
  • Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, apply, and maintain quality requirements and standards for product development and manufacturing.
  • Serve as the primary Quality Assurance resource for problem identification and corrective/preventive action completion.
  • Design and implement methods for process control, improvement, testing, and inspection.
  • Develop, execute, and analyze quality-reporting measures for the department and plant-wide.
  • Report on quality issues, trends, and losses to management.
  • Develop and analyze supplier quality measures and metrics.
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits.
  • Interface with supplier and customer quality representatives to address quality assurance problems.
  • Compile, document, and deliver training material and SOPs on quality standards and processes.
  • Manage the measuring equipment calibration system.
  • Conduct root cause problem-solving of key quality issues using various tools.
  • Provide feedback to R&D and manufacturing regarding customer feedback and quality-related issues.
