About The Position

Itron is seeking a Quality Manager for our West Union, SC facility. This position will report to the Senior Quality Manager and will support manufacturing of Gas Metering and Battery Powered Devices. The role will manage a team of 9-10 engineers, technicians and inspectors and is responsible for assuring product quality through data-driven decision making, problem solving, risk mitigation and quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of relevant experience in quality management in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of ISO-9001 based quality management systems
  • Good understanding of 8D problem-solving methodology
  • Experience addressing customer complaints and ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Excellent communication, organization & leadership skills

Nice To Haves

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer and/or ASQ Certified Manager of Quality & Organizational Excellence
  • Six-Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
  • ISO9001 auditor certification
  • Experience with Oracle and/or other ERP systems
  • Experience with SQL and Power BI

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership in quality-related initiatives, processes and activities.
  • Manage a team of 9-10 associates.
  • Drive attainment of quality KPI targets and improvement initiatives, including scrap, rework, rolled throughput yield, warranty return rate and out-of box quality.
  • Ensure customer needs and expectations are met, including responsiveness to customer complaints and follow-up to customer audits.
  • Ensure compliance to applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Support product quality initiatives, including new product introduction, design changes, DFMEA and failure analysis.
  • Support process quality initiatives, including quality planning, measurement systems analysis, process capability studies, control plans and PFMEA.
  • Provide data analysis and reporting related to product and process quality.
  • Coordinate problem-solving activities utilizing 8D methodology, ensuring thorough containment and root cause analysis, and effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Oversee and/or lead projects associated with process, product and KPI-related improvement initiatives.
