About The Position

The Quality Manager provides leadership and oversight of the Quality Management System and Quality team supporting the manufacture and distribution of Tampico base concentrate. This role oversees quality systems and certifications, Quality Control (QC), Food Safety programs, and Good Manufacturing (GMP) and Laboratory Practices, including microbiology. The Qualify Manager is responsible for management of the sampling program, testing, and reporting, as well as ensuring ongoing compliance with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) Hazard Analysis and Risk-Based Preventative Controls (HARPC) plans. The Quality Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining SOPs related to laboratory operations, food safety, and food quality processes. This role ensures the efficient operation of the Quality department while proactively identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Manufacturing.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in food manufacturing quality systems and laboratory operations; Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or a related field.
  • Experience managing QA, QC, and Food Safety programs; PCQI certification or equivalent experience required.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and corrective action skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams and work cross-functionally.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office; working knowledge of database or ERP systems.
  • Ability to work in office, laboratory, and manufacturing environments, including standing for extended periods and lifting up to 30 lbs.

  • Beverage, flavor chemistry, or flavor manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and continuously improve Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Food Safety systems, including SQF certification, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Serve as Preventative Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI), overseeing development, validation, verification, and reanalysis of the Food Safety Plan.
  • Oversee Company base Quality activities, such as supplier compliance, licensee base complaints.
  • Develop, lead, and train the Quality team, promoting GMP, HACCP/HARPC, and food safety best practices.
  • Monitor and improve KPIs, audits, sampling, testing, and process control programs in collaboration with Field Technical Services.
  • Partner with Manufacturing and R&D to support new products, continuous improvement, and site-level strategic initiatives.
