Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Nice To Haves

  • It is recommended that this position attain the Certified Quality Manager  (ASQ) and/or the Certified Quality Auditor status.

Responsibilities

  • Formulates and maintains quality assurance objectives to corporate policies and goals.
  • Coordinates TS16949 quality system documentation, maintenance and follow-up for the facility.
  • Investigates and addresses customer complaints regarding quality through CAR’s
  • Reviews test and inspection reports; directs corrective action to be taken in cases of non-conforming material
  • Ensures that complete records on quality issues are maintained with specifications and manuals are up to date.
  • Suggests and debates alternative methods and procedures in solving problems.
  • Analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability of finished product
  • Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.
  • This position is required to work daily and weekend overtime and to travel.
  • Other duties as required.
  • Understand BIC Key performance indicators and develop and implement corrective actions to meet or exceed BIC 75
  • Drive lean principles to reduce waste and implement 5S and Kaizens in department
  • Manage Quality Department including Quality Engineer and Quality Supervisor
  • Ensure good communication across shifts, departments
  • Participate in problem solving, VSM, Kaizen projects
  • Implement SOT’s, standard work
  • Audit for standard work, quality, understanding HSE
  • Train, disqualify, qualify and audit performance on teammates
