This role shall have the responsibility and authority as the Management’s Representative for the management of Instron QMS as outlined in ISO9001 standard. The duties and responsibilities are not exhaustive but not limited to ones listed below.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an applied science or engineering field.
  • 5 years proven experience in Quality Assurance.
  • Demonstrated experience working with contract manufacturers, suppliers or distributors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to apply ITW toolbox/Lean Manufacturing philosophy to various work related issues.
  • Desire to own decisions and take responsibility for outcomes.

  • Experience in quality management systems and quality system audits.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to ensure Instron’s Quality Management System (QMS) complies with applicable ISO standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Manage, update, and report quality and customer experience metrics to assess the health and effectiveness of the quality system.
  • Lead the global customer satisfaction program and drive business process improvements with service and the business team to enhance customer experience.
  • Manage the internal quality audit program, utilizing cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Provide leadership for verification and validation (V&V) activities for all new products.
  • Lead cross-functional partnerships supporting escalations and quality support processes to ensure timely and effective resolution of customer issues; chair QSR/ESC and FCR meetings.
  • Document communication for customers regarding safety incidents and product notifications.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities across processes, products, and operating methods, with a focus on safety, quality, delivery, and performance.
  • Collaborate with Production, Purchasing, and Product Development to ensure a consistent supply of high-quality products.
  • Partner with Supply Chain to establish, monitor, and continuously improve external supplier quality.
  • Represent Quality on new product development teams, ensuring the timely delivery of world-class quality products.
  • Lead ISO 9001 assessments conducted by external certification bodies.
  • Manage internal defect reporting, incoming and outgoing inspections, with a focus on continuous quality improvement.
  • Conduct periodic on-site audits and customer liaison activities for installations in collaboration with the Service organization.
  • Develop, implement, and manage quality-related goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and systems (QA/QC/Compliance).
  • Ensure compliance with applicable environmental, health, and safety standards, as well as national and international regulations.
  • Serve as the primary signatory for CE Declarations for all products released from the Norwood facility.
  • Manage product safety activities for all products released from the Norwood facility.
  • Liaise with customer auditors, ensuring timely execution of corrective actions and compliance with customer requirements.
  • Identify quality-related training needs and develop and deliver appropriate training programs such as effective application of RCCA tools and methodologies.
