About The Position

The Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring that our products and services meet all necessary requirements before they reach the consumer. They will develop and implement quality management strategies, policies, procedures, and process control techniques that identify, analyze, and resolve quality problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in quality management, engineering, business management, or another related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a quality, manufacturing and/or engineering role within a manufacturing environment, if degreed.
  • Minimum of 9 years of experience in a quality, manufacturing and/or engineering role within a manufacturing environment, if non-degreed.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory leadership position.
  • Intermediate PC skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Working knowledge of applied statistics and statistical methods used in quality functions.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001, Six Sigma, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in quality management software and tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to express quality requirements in understandable terms, conduct training sessions, coach, counsel, and persuade effectively in all areas of the plant.
  • Working knowledge of industry standard quality methodologies and tools (e.g. APQP, PPAP, 8D, etc.)
  • Advanced understanding and application of IATF, AS, or ISO quality management systems.
  • Subject matter expert of AIAG or ASQ industry standard quality toolsets.
  • Ability to accurately measure using precision metrology tools.

  • Advanced technical knowledge in product design functions, manufacturing processes, inspection, metrology, statistical methods, and quality auditing.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate leadership by championing Lozier’s Mission, Vision, and Values and living the Lozier Leadership Model.
  • Primary contact and lead teams to resolve manufacturing quality, audit findings, RMA (returns) & Customer issues and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented to prevent recurrence.
  • Coordinate audits of internal quality systems, processes, products, and supplied materials to assess quality levels and provide feedback/follow-up for improvement.
  • Interact with cross-functional teams and customer contacts to provide corrective action reports, compliance certifications, or improvement action plans as necessary.
  • Monitor overall plant quality progress and performance to target objectives and facilitate and/or implement continuous improvement or corrective actions as needed.
  • Promote a quality culture throughout the facility and ensure that processes needed to sustain an ISO9001 compliant quality management system are established, implemented, and maintained.
  • Generate development plans against leadership and functional competencies to promote internal capabilities and growth.
  • Lead plant Quality function activities for new product realization programs and ensure change management processes are established, implemented, and maintained.
  • Oversee and identify incoming inspection criteria and processes for component parts and manage product audit plans for finished goods.
  • Champion the integration of continuous improvement concepts and tools to eliminate waste and improve process efficiencies.
  • Maintain the plant measurement system and calibration plan.
  • Develop and implement the site continuous improvement strategy and program that promotes a continuous improvement culture at all levels within the site.
  • Manage the systems to capture continuous improvement opportunities from all levels within the site and develop a process for prioritization.
  • Develop and conduct training to all levels of site personnel on continuous improvement tools and methodologies.
  • Collaborate with site leadership on the implementation of defined site continuous improvement programs.
  • Lead identified significant problem solving and/or continuous improvement project(s).
  • Develop and provide metrics and reporting mechanisms on continuous improvement progress including achieved cost out, cost of poor quality, and/or cost avoidance.
  • Demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work, meetings, and completing assignments.
  • Ability to work and interact well with others.
  • Support quality function deliverables of phase-gate projects and be able to facilitate or lead a phase-gate project as needed.
  • Conduct regular quality audits to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
  • Ensure all quality records are properly stored and accessible for audits and inspections.
